Jackson Center, Ohio (October 2014) – Airstream announced pricing for the newly-released Interstate Grand Tour. The Type B motorhome with an award winning Mercedes-Benz chassis now offers custom-designed screen doors to allow Airstreamers to bring the outdoors in, and comes well-equipped at $153,000.
“Like our traditional Airstream travel trailers, the Interstate Grand Tour touring coach packs so much luxury and utility into a convenient package – office, bedroom, galley, the works,” said Airstream CEO and President Bob Wheeler. “It brings the classic Airstream design aesthetic to life, with well thought-out features, exceptional fit and finish and attention to detail.”
Built on the proven foundation of the Airstream Interstate EXT touring coach, the Grand Tour combines an amazing amount of functionality and “home on the road” features for everything from short camping trips to extended adventures with three luxurious Airstream interior décor choices. The latest design options of the Grand Tour include:
- Custom-designed screen doors, including a power rollaway screen at the rear and sliding door on the side
- Larger galley with additional counter and multi-functional storage space
- Flexible workspace desk and an expanded bathroom area
- Oversized fridge and freezer
- Standard power awning
The Interstate is the best-selling Type B motorhome in the United States for three years running (Statistical Surveys Inc.), and the Grand Tour model expands Airstream’s collaboration with Mercedes-Benz to appeal to the longer-term use buyer.
