Caravel:
The Art of Traveling Light

There’s no reason your travel trailer shouldn’t have just as much style as your home.

Caravel is proof that great design doesn’t require a large footprint. Available in 16-, 20-, and 22-foot single-axle floor plans, it pairs lightweight towability with the elevated craftsmanship, iconic style, and premium comfort that define the Airstream experience. For those beginning their Airstream journey, Caravel offers an approachable way to travel without compromising quality.

Inside Caravel, clean lines, panoramic windows, and thoughtfully scaled furnishings create a living space that feels open, bright, and refined. Every detail is intentional, from premium Nassimi® upholstery and convertible dining spaces to integrated storage that keeps the interior uncluttered and serene. The result is a calm, artfully designed environment that feels larger than its footprint suggests, equally suited to quiet mornings, scenic afternoons, and evenings spent unwinding after a day on the road.

Travel Light. Live Beautifully

Lightweight, refined, and ready for adventure. Explore Caravel floor plans, features, and design to find the one that fits your travel style.

Sophisticated Living, Neatly Packaged

Caravel's galley brings residential-inspired sophistication to compact living. Stainless steel appliances, cast-iron burners, a modern sink and faucet, and beautifully integrated cabinetry combine style with functionality. Durable materials and an efficient layout make meal preparation effortless, whether you're cooking a full dinner or enjoying a simple breakfast before setting out. Every element is designed to enhance daily life while maintaining a clean, streamlined aesthetic.

Comfort extends into every corner of the trailer. Memory foam mattresses, flexible sleeping arrangements, integrated storage, and a fully equipped bathroom create spaces that feel welcoming, comfortable, and easy to live in. Rather than maximizing features for their own sake, Caravel focuses on thoughtful essentials, delivering a sense of ease and livability that supports longer adventures without ever feeling crowded.

Inspired by coastal landscapes, Airstream Founder Wally Byam’s love of the sea, and the legacy of Caravel trailers over the decades, Caravel's interior reflects a modern, understated sense of luxury. The Pebble and Driftwood décor packages blend soft neutrals, warm wood tones, and textured finishes to create interiors that feel bright, timeless, and sophisticated. Designed as a versatile canvas, these interiors allow personal touches to shine while maintaining a cohesive, uncluttered aesthetic. The result is a travel trailer that balances style and simplicity with exceptional attention to detail, offering a beautifully composed space wherever the road leads.

Tasteful Technology

Quiet Comfort in Any Season

Caravel’s QuietStream™ ducted climate system delivers consistent, quiet comfort in a wide range of conditions. Enhanced directional vents improve airflow throughout the cabin, while an electronic thermostat, heat pump, and propane furnace work together to maintain the ideal temperature whether you’re traveling, camping, or relaxing inside.

Simple, Capable Energy

Designed for modern adventures, Caravel makes power management easy. A 2000W inverter, standard solar charging system (100 W in the 16RB, 200 W in the 20FB and 22FB), available lithium battery upgrades, and interior power monitoring provide flexibility and confidence, whether you’re connected to shore power or exploring off the grid.

Bright, Calm, and Functional

Large panoramic windows fill the interior with natural light, creating an open and welcoming atmosphere. Interior 12V LED lighting adds efficient, comfortable illumination after sunset, ensuring the space remains functional and inviting day and night. The nimble 16-foot Caravel features panoramic windows at the front and rear, opening up the space and filling it will light and great views.

Iconic and Ready to Go

Light, Nimble, and Recognizable

Caravel brings Airstream’s iconic aluminum design into a lighter, easier-to-manage travel trailer. Its single-axle design, compact footprint, and aerodynamic profile make towing and maneuvering more approachable, while preserving the unmistakable look and craftsmanship that define the Airstream brand.

Designed for confidence on the road, Caravel pairs durable construction with a lightweight design that helps make towing less intimidating. Its balanced proportions and road-ready build encourage spontaneous travel while providing the reliability needed for years of adventure.

Easy Transitions Outside

Caravel extends the living experience beyond the trailer with thoughtful exterior features that make campsite life more enjoyable. Multiple awnings create shaded outdoor spaces, while exterior utilities, storage access, and an outdoor shower add convenience without unnecessary complexity.

Quick setup and practical utility access help you settle in with minimal effort. Everything is designed to be straightforward and accessible, so you can spend less time managing your campsite and more time enjoying your surroundings.

Effortless, Easy-to-Tow Confidence

As one of Airstream’s most tow-friendly travel trailers, Caravel is engineered for a smooth and predictable towing experience. Its lightweight, single-axle design, aerodynamic aluminum shell, low center of gravity, and rear-view monitoring system work together to enhance stability and driver confidence.

Caravel is designed to make towing feel natural, from highway travel to campsite maneuvering. Responsive handling and manageable dimensions help reduce stress behind the wheel, opening the door to more destinations without requiring a larger tow vehicle.
