Giving Tuesday initiative will support music therapy in children’s hospitals
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving. It is a day in which non-profits, individuals, and businesses come together on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving to give back to their communities. Just last year, over $300 million were raised to support charities all throughout the world on this one day.
For #GivingTuesday 2018, Airstream is partnering with Sam’s Fans – a Columbus, Ohio non-profit dedicated to music and art therapy for children with serious illnesses and their families. Since its inception in 2015, Sam’s Fans has fundraised over half a million dollars to support different initiatives. Sam’s Fans funds music and art therapists at five Ohio children’s hospitals located in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Akron, and Cleveland. Sam’s Fans also funds art and music programs at two camps for children with serious illnesses: Flying Horse Farms and Center for Courageous Kids. In addition to that, Sams’ Fans raises awareness about the power of music and art therapy to #LeaveItBeautiful.
One of Sam’s Fans’ initiatives is to buy music and art supplies for the music and art therapy programs. And on this year’s #GivingTuesday, Sam’s Fans plans to raise $10,000 to buy music and art supplies for music and art therapists. Through its Leave it Beautiful initiative, Airstream will help ensure the campaign is successful by providing a matching donation of $2,500. The company will also provide an Airstream travel trailer and tow vehicle for Sam’s Fans to pack full of art and music supplies to deliver to Ohio children’s hospitals.
Sam’s Fans has created an Amazon wish list filled with art and music supplies. Sam’s Fans will purchase the items and then on December 3rd and 4th, Airstream will join the group to deliver the items to hospitals across Ohio during the first week of December.
