A Family Adventure with Basecamp

When the Lindvalls – husband and wife Tyler and Barb and their daughters Evelyn, 8, and Lyla, 6 – got the chance to take a Basecamp on their family getaway this August, they couldn’t wait to hit the road.

With the Basecamp in tow, they left their hometown of Denver and started their extended weekend adventure – one that included lots of family bonding, music, canoeing, and general good times. One of the first things Tyler noticed after they started driving was how easily the trailer towed behind the family’s truck. That’s no surprise – Basecamp’s compact, lightweight design is meant to make towing a breeze, even with smaller vehicles like mid-sized SUVs.

After they arrived at their first stop – Winter Park, CO – they wasted no time in making their Basecamp feel like home. They set up the beds, opened the screen door, and most importantly, poured a glass of wine.

Tyler and Barb spent the first night in the Basecamp, which comfortably sleeps two when its bench seating is converted into a bed. They enjoyed a super-quiet and relaxing night. And, “as a 6’3” human,” said Tyler, “I was surprised at how comfortable it was to sleep in!”

After two nights in Winter Park, they headed to Leadville, CO – but not without taking a shower first. “I’m not sure how they fit a toilet/shower combo into this thing, but it rocks!” said Tyler. The Basecamp served up plenty of hot water for the kids. And Tyler rinsed off outside using the pull-through shower head, which the whole family agreed was “super cool!”

The Lindvalls camped in Leadville for two nights. Although the temperatures got a bit chilly at 10,500 feet, the Basecamp’s heater kept them nice and cozy. And the panoramic front window made the family feel like they were always outside enjoying the views, even as they cooked up some gourmet dishes in the kitchen.

Overall, Tyler said, the family had a great experience with their Basecamp: “We love this camper and would recommend it to anyone seeking adventure in comfort and style!”
