K Is For Kindness

This time of year is known as the season for holiday cheer. Many people get together at parties, attend fundraising events and volunteer at charities across the nation to pass on the holiday spirit to others. We at Airstream enjoy seeing how our #LiveRiveted community embraces this season of giving and want to give you a few tangible ways to spread kindness this holiday season:

- Help a local state or national park clean up their trails. Many of these parks post information online about volunteer days over the course of the year. Even if a park doesn’t have an official clean-up day, you can always move debris and pick up trash on your next hike. You can find a list of parks here.

-Tell someone “Thank you.” Too often we forget to acknowledge the people who make each day special. It may be a friend, a parent, a sibling, a teacher or a neighbor. Whoever it is in your life, give them a call or write them a letter to tell them how much you appreciate their support in your life. A grateful life is a Live Riveted life!

-Do you have some books laying around that you no longer need or want? Donating books is a great way to clear the clutter and support your community at the same time. You can donate any type of book from children’s books to college textbooks. Libraries, homeless shelters and even many online charities accept donated books.

-Really listen to those around you. It’s amazing what you can learn about the people in your life when you do. Have a friend who seems overwhelmed? Offer to babysit his children for a night. Does a coworker seem a little down? Grab an extra coffee on your way to work, and her smile will brighten your day (and the coffee with brighten hers!). Or even take the time to get to know someone you meet on the road while traveling—you can form great relationships when you just take the time to listen!

We hope you find more ways to spread joy and kindness this holiday season. Do you have a special way that you like to give back during the holidays? Share with us on Facebook or Twitter, or by commenting below!
