Best Summertime Road Trips

Tomorrow is the first official day of summer, and we think the perfect way to celebrate is to share some incredible summertime road trips! School is out and the weather is warm, so now is the perfect time to round up family and friends and venture out into the great USA.

Pacific Coast Highway: Have you ever wanted to take in the beautiful of California? If yes, then this trip is for you! This popular road trip offers stunning coastal views along almost its entire 1,000-mile route from California’s northern border to its southern boundary with Mexico. The two-lane PCH runs through beautiful rugged terrain with frequent vista points and laybys to take in the gorgeous scenery. The drive offers some flexibility as well. You can start in the metropolis of Los Angeles and head south to visit the famous San Diego Zoo, or journey north to San Francisco and beyond.

Arizona and New Mexico: This road trip will allow you to Live Riveted all along the way! Start off at the Grand Canyon, the quintessential road trip destination, and take in one of the world’s natural wonders. Then embark on a white water rafting adventure you will never forget! You can raft down the Colorado River that will end up in the clear waters of Lake Powell. From there, don’t miss out on the Carlsbad Caverns of New Mexico, where you can explore the caverns and even view the nightly bat flight!

Blue Ridge Parkway: Head down south for a road trip along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, which runs through Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee. This 469-mile parkway connects two national parks: The Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee and Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. There are numerous hikes along the way, and be sure to make a pit stop at the beautiful and historic Biltmore Estate.

The Overseas Highway: If Florida is your go-to summer destination, then we recommend journeying down the Overseas Highway to the ultimate Florida destination: The Florida Keys. Stop along the way and take in the coastal charm to fish and kayak. There are plenty of coral reefs as well for you to snorkel or dive.  If you are interested in trying some delicious fresh seafood, make sure to stop and try the restaurants of Islamorada, Key Largo and Marathon.

Summertime is the perfect time to Live Riveted, so hit the open road and head out on an adventure! Make sure to let us know of the fun things you see on the way- post pictures of your favorite road trips to our Facebook page!
