J is for Jobs

One thing we love about Airstreams is that they allow us to live the life of our dreams! Whether you use your Airstream for family vacations, camping trips with friends or for cross-country adventures, everyone in the Airstream family can agree that a Live Riveted life is the best.

We love getting to hear stories of how people live, play and even work in their Airstreams. People nowadays are truly embracing the Live Riveted lifestyle and aren’t just living full time in their Airstreams, but working in them as well!

Students over at the Columbus College of Art and Design recently created their own Airstream specifically designed for those who want to work and live in their trailer. This innovative design was created as an affordable alternative to an apartment. The rear hatch of the Airstream opens into a desk so owners can sit and work in the open air, perfect for an Airstreamer who wants to be immersed in nature while getting work done. Doors inside the Airstream are also double-duty. They are designed to open and close to create new spaces and privacy.

Plus, we always love hearing stories of Airstreamers who have created businesses that are run from inside an Airstream itself! Fundaro's Foodstream is a 1971 Airstream trailer that has been stripped down to its shell and was rebuilt into a rolling industrial kitchen. Streamline Cycles is based out of Austin, Texas and is a full-service bike shop housed in none other than a shiny Airstream trailer. And Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is building a simulated space habitat out of a 1967 Airstream to study design and conduct simulated space missions.

Do you work out of your Airstream- we would love to know what you do and why you love it! Comment below or share with us on our Facebook page!
