Summer Vacation Traditions

Summer may be slowly winding down, but that does not mean you can’t make the most of August by taking a classic summer vacation! One thing we love the most about travel is that it makes people young and old come alive. There is something so magical about hitting the road and taking in new experiences with friends and family. Whether you are camping in the desert, traveling across the country or heading to a family-friendly theme park, we believe in the power of making new memories and embracing the Live Riveted lifestyle.

Today we wanted to highlight some classic summer vacation ideas to inspire you to get out and embrace the rest of summertime!

Plan a camping trip: The summer camping trip is iconic in so many ways! Camping allows you to enjoy nature’s beauty and save some money at the same time. Whether you choose to camp close to home at a local campground or venture out to a national park like Yosemite or the Grand Canyon, you can’t go wrong by enjoying a few days in the great outdoors. With so many campgrounds and national parks to choose from, you can go backpacking through wooded trails, camp under the stars and take in all that this country has to offer.

Adventure to a family-friendly theme park: Disney World or Disneyland is the perfect vacation spot for people searching for a family-friendly destination! Families from around the world travel to these magical destinations in search of quality time with their children. Can’t make it all the way to Florida or California to visit a theme park? There are numerous parks around the country like Six Flags Magic Mountain, Cedar Point and Hersheypark that offer tons of rides and entertainment options for the whole family.

Head to the beach: There is nothing quite like the quintessential summer beach vacation. Take advantage of the warm sunny days and venture to all corners of the country to relax in paradise. Whether you vacation on the East Coast in the Florida Keys or Panama City Beach or head out west to California beach towns like Santa Cruz, the sun, sand and surf will certainly make for the perfect summer vacation.

Embark on a road trip: We are definitely fond of the classic American road trip! Road trips allow you to explore towns and cities of all sizes and get a glimpse of the beautiful country we call home. If you are looking for a tried-and-true classic road trip, we suggest driving down the California coast down the Pacific Coast Highway. If an East Coast trip sounds better to you, venture to Cape Cod and journey through the 40-mile route 6A to quaint coastal towns.

Regardless of whatever kind of vacation you choose, we hope you awaken your venturesome spirits and enjoy many incredible adventures in the final days of summer! Be sure to share your favorite memories from your trips with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
