Any of our sports fans out there know that now is the start of one of the best seasons of the year. “Fall?” you may ask. That’s partially correct, but the better answer is “football season.” This past week kicked off college football across the nation and fans and Airstream tailgaters are abuzz with which teams are going to dominate the season and who might make it to the National Championship.
Something we know is true is that loyal fans will travel anywhere to cheer on their favorite teams. Plus, a college football game is certainly a sight to be seen, so a road trip might be in store for you this fall whether you’re a diehard fan or simply love a great Live Riveted adventure! We’re here to share the top 5 things to experience on a college gameday weekend:
-First things first, you’ve got to get to the big games. Take a road trip to some of the nation’s best college football towns to enjoy the sights and sounds that college football has to offer. Here’s a list from Bleacher Report of the top 25 college football games of 2014.
-Find out which college ESPN College GameDay will be at and show up early to join in the fun. College GameDay is an ESPN entertainment show that previews college football games complete with excitement, revelry, handmade signs and more. It’s best known for its prediction segment where hosts will predict the outcome of one of the big games of the day. Finally, Lee Corso, one of the hosts, makes his prediction and dons the mascot head of the predicted school, much to the excitement or dismay of the local fans!
-Find out what the local traditions are. Each school’s football history is unique in its own and you want to be a part of it. Don your best attire in the school colors and join with the locals. From the tailgating at The Grove at Ole Miss to cheering on the players in Athens, GA before the game at the DawgWalk and ringing the chapel bell after a win, traditions are everywhere.
