Top Ski Trip Destinations

Winter is in full swing, but don’t let the cold temperatures and snowy climates keep you indoors! The key to a Live Riveted life is to enjoy all that life has to offer, regardless of what season it is. In fact, we chatted with our friend and fellow Airstreamer, Ramona, about how to live riveted in the winter!

We here at Airstream love hearing about the incredible trips the Airstream community embarks on each and every year. In 2015, we want to encourage each of you to get out there and make memories with friends and family. Whether it’s on a beach, in a foreign country or simply creating in the comfort of your own home, there are endless ways to Live Riveted. Today, we’re going to highlight one way to really embrace the winter weather. Today, we encourage you to try your hand (or should we say foot?) at skiing or snowboarding at one of these incredible ski trip destinations!

Beaver Creek-  Beaver Creek, Colorado is a world-class ski destination that combines great skiing and an unparalleled level of charm and relaxation in one of the best mountain towns. New to skiing? Beaver Creek offers lessons for all ages, including private lessons for your entire family! This locale has 1,832 skiable acres and the mountain has 25 lifts and 150 different trails to make every trip down the mountain an adventure.

Park City- Park City is a scenic mountain community about 30 miles outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. In Park City, you will never be bored due to their unending list of available activities ranging from skiing/snowboarding, bobsled rides, snowshoeing, and even hot air balloon excursions! When you are tired from all of those winter activities, you can take in the quaint town filled with shops, museums and great restaurants. You can even tour the 2002 Winter Olympic Park, where you can attend a fantasy camp for bobsled, luge, slopestyle and Nordic events.

Sugar Mountain- Want to go on ski trip but don’t want to head all the way out west? Check out Sugar Mountain in Banner Elk, NC. Sugar Mountain is a long-time favorite destination for families and boasts the largest ski area in North Carolina. There are 115 skiable acres with 20 individual runs and 7 ski lifts. Families will have a wide array of activities to choose from like ice skating, snowshoeing and tubing as well.

Lake Tahoe- Located on the California-Nevada border, this prime ski location is a popular vacation spot, often hosting 200,000 visitors on a busy weekend! Lake Tahoe is known for its gorgeous views of steep granite cliffs, towering mountains and the crystal clear waters of the lake. Lake Tahoe offers Olympic caliber downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as snowmobiling, ice skating and more!
